A photograph still comes out as a negative

Lucerna finds images by reading the page's content stream. A few PDFs draw a photograph in a way that does not declare itself as an image — a scanned page that is one enormous picture, for instance, or artwork built out of thousands of vector shapes. Send the file, or the page number if the file is not yours to share, and it can be looked at.

The whole page looks washed out

Try the other reading modes with ⌘B. Black & White drains colour from everything except the pictures, Colour on Dark keeps it, and Sepia gives back warm paper. Some documents suit one and not the others.

A folder is empty when it should not be

Lucerna only reaches what you have given it: it is sandboxed, and it can read the folder you chose and what is under it. Choosing the folder again through Open a Folder re-grants that access. Documents added while the folder is open appear on their own.

My place in a book was lost

Positions are written continuously as you read, per document, and keyed to the file. Moving or renaming the file makes it a new document as far as the app is concerned — the old position is still stored, and reappears if the file goes back where it was.

Restoring a purchase

The unlock is a lifetime, non-consumable in-app purchase shared across Mac, iPhone and iPad through Universal Purchase. Signing in with the same Apple Account is usually enough; if it is not, there is a Restore Purchase button in Settings.

Reporting a bug

Issues can go to the issue tracker or straight to info@sp33c.tech. Useful things to include: the version from the About panel, which platform, and what the page looked like when it went wrong.
